JAI #665 - Just Add CAS

This week at Just Add Ink we're challenging you to make a CAS creation - clean and simple. Generally that's defined as minimal layers and embellishments and lots of wide open "white" space.

For my card I've gone for jungle themed cuteness with a sweet-as-can-be zebra.

I sponged a little green ink in my lower corner then stencilled some leaves in a slightly darker shade. The image was coloured with Copics then die cut and attached with Dimensionals.

Materials used:
  • stamps - African Animals (C.C. Designs)
  • card - basic white, basic black (SU), Monochrome Basics 1.1 (Paper Rose)
  • distress oxide inks - bundled sage, mowed lawn
  • Copic markers - C0,C2,C4,C5,E51,E40
  • other - African Animals die set, leaf stencil, blending brush, MISTI, Dimensionals

Check out more clean and simple inspiration over on the Just Add Ink blog.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

The Card Concept Challenge #193

It's time for a new challenge at The Card Concept and this week you've a choice between two great inspiration pics, (a) New Arrival or (b) Busy Bee.

I couldn't resist those adorable forest animals in option a and took them as inspiration for my clean and layered baby card.

The animals are coloured with Copics and fussy-cut. For the sentiment I cut two layers of the dies and glued them together - I love the additional dimension this gives.

Materials used:
  • stamps - Woodland Friends (Isabel Cristina)
  • card - basic white, mint macaron, cinnamon cider, Baby Milestones plaid (Nitwit)
  • Copic markers -
    • racoon - C0,C2,C4,R20
    • deer - E41,E42,E43,R20,E25
    • squirrel - E11,E13,E15
  • other - Well Scripted dies (SU), Big Shot, retired in-colour dots (SU), Stampin' Blends just jade light, mint macaron light and dark (SU), white gel pen

I do hope you'll check out the cards my fellow team members have created to inspire you. We'd love to see your own creation in our gallery.

Thanks for stopping by.

Unsupervised - CAS on Friday Challenge #197

Hi all and welcome to another CAS on Friday challenge. This is challenge #197 and our theme is ANIMALS.

Our family have always been cat people and as any other cat people will know, those playful felines just love cardboard boxes - hence my very tongue-in-cheek card. We've certainly spent many enjoyable hours watching our cats play in, around and on top of boxes!

ROFLOL.

Materials used:
  • stamps - Crazy Cats, Snarky Cats  (Tim Holtz)
  • card - crumb cake, soft sea foam, watercolour
  • other - box die, Big Shot, aqua painter, sponge dauber, Dimensionals, craft foam, Sahara sand marker, stitched rectangle die, Glossy Accents

This was so fun to make - and you can have fun too, taking part in our challenge. Head on over to the CASOF blog to see what my fellow DT members have created and to enter your own animal-themed card.

Thanks for stopping by.

So many possibilities here but I couldn't resist these adorable native Australian animals for my card. I sponged some blue sky and red dirt and added a small Southern Cross constellation for fun. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi!

Materials used:
  • stamps - Plushies Down Under (Clearly Besotted), Star of Light (SU)
  • card - whisper white, terracotta tile
  • SU inks - seaside spray, terracotta tile, cajun craze
  • other - post it note, blending brushes, Copic Markers, Stampin' Blends, Dimensionals, craft foam

Do pop over to the CASOF blog to see more gorgeous animals from my fellow DT members and don't forget to leave us some comment love. If you feel like taking part in the challenge, we'd love to have you.

Doggone it

For today's card I couldn't resist the opportunity to get out a Cottage Cutz die that hasn't been used in a while. When a friend had a stamp that went with it perfectly, it seemed like a match made in heaven.

Materials used:
  • stamps - Various sentiments (unknown origin)
  • card - whisper white, basic black, baked brown sugar
  • other - Santa Puppy die (Cottage Cutz), Big Shot, sponge dauber, white gel pen, subtle embossing folder, Dimensionals, Sahara sand marker, Stamparatus, craft foam

Soooo adorable! And now you know where all your missing socks go, lol.

Thanks for calling in.
