Which Came First?

It was a very full-on week at work this past week, so Friday was the first chance I had to sit down and create something. Trouble was, my mind was so full of ideas that it really was a case of 'Aargh! What do I do first?'!!! LOL

I prepared a couple of cards for my class next week (they're non SU, so they're on my other blog), then decided that even though I had well and truly missed the deadline, I wanted to have a go at last week's Just Add Ink challenge. It was to case either Danielle or Amanda, and there was a simple but effective card of Danielle's I wanted to give an Easter twist to, so here it is:

It doesn't look as good as it did in my head! Ah well. And then, because I had the gorgeous Sweet and Sour papers out, I made another card. This time I used Sweet Summer and So Happy For You, two of the SAB sets.

I just love the cheerfulness of these papers. Well, back to earth now - laundry to do!

Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday Rounds Again

A few more family birthdays this month, so some quick cards needed. This first one is for my cousin, whose favourite colour is blue and who luckily has chickens, cos I just love these cute little gals! It's an old retired SU set called Best of Cluck.

Created by Kez. Stamped images © 1990-2009 Stampin' Up! ®

I wanted to use the Baja breeze corduroy buttons on this but I only had two really big ones and they just didn't gel, so grabbed some from my stash. I taped them on, then sewed them on too with some embroidery thread.

The next card is for my big brother and I just had to use this non SU set; BB loves golf and jokes, so I knew these images would be a real hit! (pardon the pun!) I love argyle patterns for golf things, and bloke cards in general, so the argyle socks were a perfect match for me! (oops, another pun!) These are retired SU papers from last year.

Making your own cards is so great when you know the recipient and can personalise it to their tastes! Don't you just LOVE this craft of ours? I know I do!

Well, thanks for taking a peek at my offerings today. Have a good Monday!

Cheers

Just for Fun

With my July workshops over and the girls back at school, I decided to give myself a day of stamping just for fun.

Firstly as I absolutely LOVE the silhouette effect with a brayered background, I got to with the newest member of my stamp "family" (LOL!), Inspired by Nature. I've used More Mustard, Really Rust and a touch of Ruby Red.

Next just had to be a tri shutter card! These are so simple and such fun to make and I wanted to experiment with a bold one for boys as both of the cards I've made so far have been in soft, feminine colours. I'm not completely happy with it, but it will do; sometimes you just gotta lump it, eh?!

Lastly, this chicken card is for DD17, who has trial HSC exams coming up soon. It is very much tongue-in-cheek, as you may recall from this post that she is scared of our chickens. (We try not to tease her too much, but sometimes it's eggs-tra difficult not to!!!) She loves blue and brown, so I used the GORJUS new papers from the Spring Mini called Parisian Breeze. I decided to combine it with this week's Mojo Monday sketch, as I haven't done a MM for a while:

Hope she likes it, he he!!!

Well, thanks for dropping by. I hope you've had some fun in your day too.

Cheers
