Warm Cozy Hugs

It's time for a colour/inspiration challenge with Just Add Ink.

I was pretty happy when I saw this inspiration pic because I knew I had a stencil set with a scene so similar it was uncanny! It was no hardship at all to adopt the colours as well to create a card.

Aww, both kitties look so relaxed and sweet! Makes me want to curl up with a nice warm blankie for a nap too, lol.

The sentiment on the inside reads, 'Sending you warm cozy hugs.'

Materials used:
  • stamp/stencil combo - Postage Collage Sew Fun (Waffle Flower)
  • other stamps - Stay Warm (Mama Elephant)
  • dies - Postage Collage (Waffle Flower)
  • 3D embossing folder - Knitted (Lisa Horton)
  • other - Big Shot, blending brushes, grip mat, linen thread, tiny tag punch, Dimensionals, MISTI, mini pins (Tim Holtz)

How do the colours or picture inspire you? We hope you'll play along with us! Check out more samples over on the Just Add Ink blog.

Thanks for dropping by.

Cheers

Sprinkled With Joy

Welcome to another Just Add Ink challenge and this time around we have a colour/inspiration pic combo for you to play with.

Those scrummy looking donuts were the inspiration for a sweet birthday card.

Everything (except the black pieces) was cut from white as usual and coloured with inks - well, except for the sprinkles, where I coloured the card first before die-cutting. I wasn't going to try to colour all those tiny fiddly bits, lol! As it was, my tired old peepers went cross-eyed putting the white dots in four pairs of eyes! 😜 And how adorable are those little panda slippers?!

Materials used:
  • dies - doughnut girl and ice cream cone (stash)
  • distress inks - kitsch flamingo (dye and oxide), picked raspberry, mustard seed, speckled egg, abandoned coral, candied apple
  • other - blending brushes, caramel toffee ink (Altenew), foam squares, computer & printer, white gel pen, fine black marker

I hope the picture or colours or both inspire you to create and join us. Check out more samples over on the Just Add Ink blog, and thanks for stopping by.

Let's Go To The Beach - Just Add Ink Challenge #778

It's time for an inspiration/colour challenge with Just Add Ink and this gorgeous summer mood board.

My beachy mini slimline card was inspired by both image and palette.

I blended inks for my background then gave it plenty of water splatter. Once dry, I used a fine glue pen to dot along the edge of the 'sand' and added white embossing powder as a representation of sea foam. The shells were die cut and coloured with inks before being attached. As usual, there are two layers to my large die-cut sentiment and the stamped portion was white embossed on vellum.

Materials used:
  • stamp/die combo - Oversized Beach Word (Waffle Flower)
  • other dies - Seashells (Waffle Flower)
  • SU inks - lost lagoon, crumb cake
  • distress oxide inks - fossilized amber, barn door, dusty concord
  • other - blending brushes, glue pen, white embossing powder, heat tool, water spritzer, craft foam

We do hope you'll be inspired to create and share, whether it's the image or the colours that spark your muse. Check out lots more samples over on the Just Add Ink blog.

Thanks for dropping in.

Here for the Candy - Just Add Ink Challenge #772

Welcome to a new Just Add Ink challenge. This time around you can take the colours or the image or both as inspiration for your creation. If you choose only the colours, you must use at least three of those given.

The witches' hats and jack o'lanterns were the main inspirations for my Halloween card.

I started by creating the background, cutting from white and inking before stamping a number of iconic Halloween images. Next I constructed the cat using dense black card and a touch of sparkle for the witch hat. Cutting the postage collage die came next, then adhering the background segments and this was attached to my card base before I added the cat, jack o'lantern treat bag and sentiment. The confections were cut down through the middle with a craft knife to make them less bulky.

Materials used:
  • stamps - Postage Collage Spider Web and Postage Collage Spooktacular (Waffle Flower), Tree Branch, Slender Mushrooms Mini and Mini Meadow Mushrooms (Lavinia), Tiny Frights (Tim Holtz)
  • dies - Bewitched and Woof-or-Treat (Spellbinders), A6 Postage Collage and Blocks dies (Waffle Flower), Postale (Tim Holtz)
  • other - distress inks, Big Shot, blending brushes, Dimensionals, craft foam, white gel pen, MISTI, white embossing powder, heat tool, Confections Halloween ITim Holtz), Deco Sheets Halloween (Tim Holtz), craft knife

I hope the mood board inspires you to create - it certainly doesn't have to be Halloween themed, the colours allow pretty much anything! Just be sure to mention what your inspiration was. Whatever you choose, have fun making and do share with us using the Just Add Ink linky. There are lots more samples to inspire you on the blog too.

Entering into the Double D challenge of Halloween colours.
