JAI #663 - Just Choose Two

We've our 'choose two' option for you this week at Just Add Ink

I picked gingham and splatters for a kitchen themed shabby/vintage card.

Materials used:
  • card - garden green, basic white, Nana's Kitchen collection (Mintay), Tablecloth Boho (Etsy)
  • other - Nana's Kitchen die cuts (Mintay), lace, green baker's twine, distressing tool, sponge dauber, paintbrush, Dimensionals, crumb cake ink

My fellow team mates have plenty more to inspire you over on the JAI blog, so do pop over and check them out. As always, we'd love to see your own choose two project in our gallery.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

JAI #645 - Just Add No Stamping

Welcome to another challenge with Just Add Ink, where this week we are asking you to

When I looked back through my blog it wasn't difficult to find plenty of projects without stamping (just last month alone I had four cards that fit this criteria) - such is the joy of mixed media and all the wonderful craft products available to us.

For today's project I was inspired to create something soft and nostalgic.

I just love this colour combination. The various pieces are tied together visually by sponging them all with the same ink, and the splatters help in this too (although I may have gotten a little carried away with those, lol).

Materials used:

  • card - very vanilla (SU)
  • papers and ephemera - Grandma's Attic collection (Mintay)
  • distress ink - brushed corduroy
  • other - paper flowers (stash), linen thread, crop-o-dile, Dimensionals, craft foam, sponge dauber, mini glue dots, Label Stickers - Sentiments (Tim Holtz), fan brush

Take a trip over to the JAI blog to see what my team mates have created without stamps.

Thanks for dropping by.

Cheers
Kerry

The Card Concept - By the Sea

Welcome to another inspiration challenge with The Card Concept where our theme for this week is By the Sea.

Inspired by the shells and sand, I chose a beach theme for my mixed media card.

We're in the final days of autumn here and winter is just around the corner, so it's with a very wistful gaze that I look at this summery scene, lol.

Materials used:
  • stamps - Beach Baby (Penny Black)
  • card - watercolour, basic white, crumb cake
  • distress oxide inks - antique linen, brushed corduroy, salvaged patina, peacock feathers, broken china
  • SU inks - blush blossom, crumb cake, calypso coral, balmy blue
  • other - blending brushes, white gel pen, clear Wink of Stella, Sunset Beach die cuts (Mintay), Dimensionals, craft foam, stitched rectangle die (Paper Rose), Big Shot, Alphanumeric Tiny Type Lower dies (Tim Holtz/Sizzix), aquabrush, SU markers, Sidekick

What aspect of the picture will inspire your creation? We'd love to see it in our gallery and don't forget to check out the cards my fellow team mates have made as well.

The Card Concept team are taking a break now until the end of the US summer, so hopefully I'll be back with more challenges in September.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers
