Ongoing Sadness

A friend in Christchurch sent me these photos. Here is Cashel Street, which was the main shopping mall, looking down towards the Bridge of Rememberance.

Before the earthquake:

Now:

My heart is so full for all those who lost livelihoods, homes and loved ones. I know the living conditions for many are still horrendous. Please send them a wish or prayer that life can return to normal as soon as possible.

Thanks.
Kez

Oh my gosh, it looks terrible! I have a pic of a friend and I standing right where that guy is walking, taken just a couple of years ago. It isn't even recognisable now. So so sad. My home town will never be the same again. Thanks for sharing the pic, I haven't seen this one.

I cannot begin to relate the feelings of loss and devestation that NZ'ers are feeling but man those pics drive it home. Will send much love and warm thoughts to those across the ditch and hope that things take a turn for the positive soon. ooxx

I share your sadness - easy for me I know but I don't even want to think about what Christchurch has become. I want to remember it from when I visited the beautiful city many years ago. May the memory live on while people rebuild their homes and lives amidst great sorrow.
