Boo!

Just for a something completely different and a bit of fun, I decided to make a Halloween card for the Just Add Ink sketch challenge this week, but unfortunately I missed the deadline! Here's the sketch:

And here is my card:

I've used the Scary Skulls wheel on the Rich Razzleberry and the pumpkin face in the build-a-brad is from a set called Sweeter Treaters (very old SU). I added the Cuttlebug cobweb embossing folder and used bats because the spider in the set was way too big to put two!. The sentiment (which I moved) comes from Tiny Tags and the satin ribbon (love it!) has a "Teneale bow".

Hope you like this little touch of Halloween! Thanks for dropping by.

Greatest Treasure

As soon as I saw what this week's Cinema Saturday movie challenge was, I was instantly inspired to have a go. I printed a children's treasure map colouring page off the internet and then aged and distressed the paper; Just Jawing and Scary Skulls wheel were a given; and the sentiment was inspired by the JJ stamp. Usually I cover the heart shaped eyes with stars for a male card, but the heart set me thinking about the love story sub-plot in the movie and I decided to keep it as is. Then the wording of the sentiment just popped into my head, so I printed it out on the computer. We had to use beads, so I've put some "black pearls", he he! It was a lot of FUN to put together, so many thanks ladies for the challenge!

Here's my card:

Thanks for calling in, mateys!

Just for Fun

With my July workshops over and the girls back at school, I decided to give myself a day of stamping just for fun.

Firstly as I absolutely LOVE the silhouette effect with a brayered background, I got to with the newest member of my stamp "family" (LOL!), Inspired by Nature. I've used More Mustard, Really Rust and a touch of Ruby Red.

Next just had to be a tri shutter card! These are so simple and such fun to make and I wanted to experiment with a bold one for boys as both of the cards I've made so far have been in soft, feminine colours. I'm not completely happy with it, but it will do; sometimes you just gotta lump it, eh?!

Lastly, this chicken card is for DD17, who has trial HSC exams coming up soon. It is very much tongue-in-cheek, as you may recall from this post that she is scared of our chickens. (We try not to tease her too much, but sometimes it's eggs-tra difficult not to!!!) She loves blue and brown, so I used the GORJUS new papers from the Spring Mini called Parisian Breeze. I decided to combine it with this week's Mojo Monday sketch, as I haven't done a MM for a while:

Hope she likes it, he he!!!

Well, thanks for dropping by. I hope you've had some fun in your day too.

Cheers
