Well, I've made it to the end of week 5 of the
hostage situation lockdown. And it is a truth universally acknowledged that a crafter in possession of a goodly amount of inks, stamps and dies - not to mention time - must be in search of a challenge.
How fortunate then, that the wonderful folks at Just Add Ink have a colour challenge this week - you know how much I love those. As soon as I saw this combo I thought 'sunset and silhouette', so that is what I have done.
I dusted off my brayer for this one and love how stunning polished pink and pale papaya look together. It was a very straightforward card to make - once I'd done the background I simply had to attach the die cut pieces. And yes, some of those tiny butterflies did give me attitude, but I prevailed in the end!
You'll see I've foregone a sentiment; I decided it would be one of those multi-purpose cards you grab and write inside to suit the occasion as it arises.
- card - basic white, basic black
- dies - The Park. Flower Field (both Tim Holtz)
- other - brayer, glue, tweezers
We've at least another 4 weeks of lockdown ahead, so I'll have plenty of time to look for some more fun challenges to
relieve the boredom take part in. Boo-yah!
Thanks for dropping in.
LOVE the blending on this card - WOW!
Stay safe and thanks for the inspiration. So glad you're using the time during lockdown to create such great cards!
Thanks so much Laurie, it was certainly fun to be playing with a brayer again.
Now this is my style of card, the colours certainly scream a brayered background. The die is gorgeous. Glad that lockdown is suiting your style of creation. At least you can order in more goodies as you need them. Stay safe
Thanks Robbie. I’ve certainly taken advantage of being able to order more goodies!
Fabulous blending, Kerry. Gosh I love the silhouette against that vibrant, yet soft background. Thanks for sharing with us at Just Add Ink this week. x
Good luck with lockdown, we from other States are thinking of you all. Guess we'll be seeing you back here again next week - crafters gonna craft :)
Thanks Patrice and so true - what would we do without our craft to keep us sane? Lol
I totally agree these colours look lovely together in your sunset silhouette card. So happy you found this challenge. Chantell Just Add Ink
Gorgeous blending, Kerry. And the silhouette - right down to the tiny butterflies, is just gorgeous! Thankyou for joining in with our JAI Challenge. D x
