Presents and Pinecones Double Display

One of the projects I demonstrated at stamp camp last weekend was a Double Display card (more to come on that in the next day or two). After making it, one of the ladies was keen to try one using SU's Presents and Pinecones designer papers, along with the matching stamp and dies bundle, Christmas Pines. I helped her design the card and cut the pieces and once it was made I loved it so much I ordered the papers as soon as I got home! She kindly let me borrow her dies to cut a few pieces and I used a different stamp set for the sentiment.

It's bright, cheerful and whimsical, and of course it doesn't hurt at all that it incorporates my favourite colour - kerry cherry cobbler! Here's my own version, slightly different to hers:

Closed with belly band -

Open -

Materials used:

  • stamps - Wondrous Wreath
  • card - delightful dijon, cherry cobbler, Presents and Pinecones DSP, whisper white, emerald envy, gold foil
  • other - cherry cobbler and emerald envy markers, Dimensionals, Pretty Pines thinlit dies, Big Shot

I just LOVE this combination of kerry cherry cobbler, emerald envy and delightful dijon.

I'm entering this in the SUO Challenge for this month (#159) to use holiday papers.

Thanks for dropping in.

Cheers

PS please ask me by email if you would like a copy of the measurements/instructions for a double display card (mostly metric measurements).

Masculine Thinlits for SUO

Over at SUO Challenges it's a masculine card challenge this week and as they are the focus for my classes this month, I was right in the zone! It also gave me the perfect opportunity to flex my creative muscles with the new Circle Card Thinlits die that arrived on my doorstep this morning! I have been waiting for these to arrive on our shores for aaaaaaaages and we demos are lucky enough to be able to pre-order this week - calm down, customers, they will be available to you on the 22nd of this month!

Having used the stamp combo of The Open Sea and Word Play for one of my class cards, I had an idea to give that another whirl and I also used one of my favourite masculine colour combos - midnight muse and gumball green. I will really miss these two when we lose the 2012-2014 in colours.

And here is the inside. I thought the "hugs and kisses" die went perfectly with my sentiment, don't you?

Materials used:

  • stamps - The Open Sea, Word Play
  • card - gumball green, midnight muse, Sahara sand, whisper white
  • other - circle card thinlits, Big Shot, chevron border punch, circle dies, cute clips, patterned papers, sponge daubers

Here are all the things you get in the die pack:
I think I might just have to go and play with my new toys some more! Thanks for calling in.

Cheers

Double Dose

I am pleased so far that I have been managing to keep my new year's resolution to take part in more challenges - mind you, classes haven't started back yet, so it's early days and plenty of time for me to "fall off the wagon"!! LOL!

Anyway, today is a double dose because this card is for not one, but TWO challenges! I know, I surprised myself too! This is my entry for:
You've guessed it already, I'm sure - yup, I made a monochromatic baby card. I avoided the standard pink, blue, yellow and green and went for soft, sweet and subtle cream, aka very vanilla, with hints of crumb cake. Here tis:

Materials used:
  • stamps - baby bundle, short and sweet
  • card and paper - very vanilla, crumb cake, neutrals DSP
  • punches - 32 mm circle, 35 mm circle, scallop circle
  • other - very vanilla satin ribbon, dimensionals, crumb cake ink pad, linen thread
It's very simple but I think it's kinda sweet too. Hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope your NY resolutions are going well too!

Cheers
