Perk Up! - Just Add Ink Challenge #762

Welcome! I couldn't resist playing along with the gorgeous inspiraton picture at Just Add Ink this week.

A warm blanket, hot drink and something pumpkin-y - muffins or soup, yuuuuuummmm! (You all know how much I love pumpkin!) Add to those a book or movie and you have the perfect way to snuggle up on these cold and dreary winter days - and we sure are getting plenty of cold and dreary at the moment, lol.

My background is a quilt die and stencil combo which I am loving. On the coffee cup I masked with leaf die-cuts and inked over, then used some of the leaves as accents. For the pumpkins I inked over die-cuts and used some swirly vines I had left over from a previous card. Both parts of the sentiment come from a stamp set that retired years ago - just proving that when you keep things 'in case you need it some day', it can pan out! 😂😂

Materials used:
  • stamps - Merry Cafe (Stampin' Up)
  • die & stencil set - Tiny Square (Waffle Flower)
  • other dies - Coffee Cup framelits (SU), Door Decor (Concord & 9th)
  • distress inks - antique linen, wild honey, ripe persimmon, vintage photo, rusty hinge, spiced marmalade, dried marigold
  • other - blending brushes, Big Shot, MISTI, craft foam, Dimensionals, mini library clip, banner punch, vintage photo archival ink

I must admit, for me the drink would be a chai latte, though I'd imagine the spices are similar to a pumpkin spice latte. Got me a craving for some pumpkin muffins now though...

See more creations inspired by our picture over on the Just Add Ink blog and if you make something yourself, we'd love you to share.

Thanks for dropping in.

Good Ideas

The Color Throwdown folks have another great combo I couldn't resist playing along with.

I kept with the coffee theme from the inspiration pic for my card.

Materials used:

  • stamps - Coffee Run (Echo Park)
  • card - basic white, night of navy, coastal cabana, watercolour
  • other - Altenew inks, blending brushes, craft foam, Dimensionals, coffee bean stencil (Paper Rose), mini splatters stencil (Tim Holtz), Big Shot, Papercut Cafe colorize dies (Tim Holtz), Love You More Than dies (SU), lost shadow and vintage photo distress oxide inks (Tim Holtz), MISTI, night of navy ink (SU)

I gave my background piece a very light sponge with lost shadow oxide ink then stencilled coffee beans and splatters with the same colour. When I stamped, I masked the word 'coffee' from the stamp so I could use the die instead (3 layers for depth and dimension). The cups have a split in them which is perfect for stacking and are coloured with Altenew inks as I love their sets with a light, medium, dark and darker. So much fun to put together!

Thanks for stopping by.

Believe in the Magic - CAS on Friday Challenge #217

Welcome back to another clean and simple challenge with CAS on Friday. Hopefully this one will really get your creative juices flowing because our theme is COFFEE

I was in a whimsical mood when I made my card, as you'll see from the sentiment I chose:

Personally, I don't drink coffee, lol, but I do certainly believe in the magic of my favourite chai latte to get me going each morning so I'm thinking it's pretty much the same thing! Both my daughters are firmly in the camp of needing that shot of java to bring the brain on line, so they'll get a laugh out of this.

Materials used:
  • stamps - Tiny Text Christmas (Tim Holtz)
  • card - basic white, crisp cantaloupe, Sahara sand, crisp cantaloupe patterned paper
  • other - stitched rectangle die, Big Shot, Coffee Cup thinlits (SU), blending brushes, craft foam, MISTI, Cafe Colorize (Tim Holtz), Nothing's Better Than thinlits (SU), Coffee Beans stencil (Paper Rose), pool party ink

We'd love you to play along with our challenge and have plenty more cards to inspire you over on the CASOF blog, so please do pop over for a visit.

Thanks for dropping by.

Adulting is Hard

SU's stamp set 'Nothing's Better Than' was one of those I instantly knew I'd buy when I first saw the 2020-2021 annual catalogue. Well, that's probably not a shock to you considering it features all the most fun things in life - which coincidentally all begin with 'C'. Case in point: chocolate, cocktails, coffee and cookies! I mean, seriously. Actually, for me, not so much the coffee - can't stand the stuff. Even refuse to kiss my family when they have 'coffee breath' lol. But I do appreciate me a nice chai latte!

Anyways, I had fun over the last few days playing with various colours and designs before these cards were born.

Materials used:
  • stamps - Nothing's Better Than
  • card - whisper white, magenta madness, that bee DSP (lol)
  • other - stitched rectangle die; Love You More Than dies; Big Shot; Stampin' Blends - Bermuda bay, daffodil delight, pumpkin pie, granny apple green, lovely lipstick; Stampin' Write markers - Sahara sand, gorgeous grape, magenta madness, Bermuda bay; Dimensionals; craft foam.

You'll notice I did the cocktails and chocolate ones first, because...come on...priorities. 😉

Materials used:
  • stamps - Nothing's Better Than
  • card - whisper white, just jade, that bee DSP (lol)
  • other - stitched rectangle die; Love You More Than dies; Big Shot; Dimensionals; craft foam, Copic markers E15 and E39, in colour markers

For this one I used my just jade marker to ink up 'ummm...' from part of one stamp and 'y' from another to give me 'yummm...'

And lastly my coffee version (haven't done a cookies one). I don't particularly like the coffee cup image in the set so I dug out a mini coffee cup die set I have in my stash and used that instead.

Materials used:
  • stamps - Nothing's Better Than
  • card - whisper white, misty moonlight, that bee DSP (lol)
  • other - stitched rectangle die; coffee cup dies; Big Shot; Dimensionals; craft foam, in colour markers; Love You More Than dies

This week's challenge with my ladies is to use something new, so I've certainly got that covered with this set, lol! Thanks for stopping by and stay safe.

Coffee To Go?

In class tomorrow we will be making (among other things) this cute little "Coffee to go" set:

Materials used:
  • stamps - Perfect Blend, Extreme Elements
  • card - crumb cake, whisper white, pumpkin pie, Polka Dot dsp
  • other - white bakers twine (normal and extra thick), itty bitty punch, floral fusion die, rhinestones, sponge dauber
  • non SU - crimper, 227 ml coffee cup and lid (purchased), My Time Made Easy "To Go" templates for coffee cup and warmer wrap, styling tool and mat

Isn't it adorable? The card was cased from Angie Britt and that sparked the idea for the matching coffee cup - which here is holding a gift of coffee beans:

I can think of at least two daughters who would be happy to get this little gift set!

Thanks for stopping by.
