Aloha - Just Add Ink Challenge #759

Welcome to another Just Add Ink challenge, this week a Choose Two combo that gives a ton of possibilities:

I had so much fun making my card that I ended up making a second, both using all three options with a tropical twist.

The backgrounds are done as a whole piece then I used the blocks stencil to help place the stamps. I cut three layers of the blocks dies for some lovely frame dimension.

Materials used:
  • stamps - Postage Collage Tropical Sunset, Postage Collage Beach Days (Waffle Flower)
  • die & stencil - Postage Collage mini slimline blocks, Postage Collage blocks (Waffle Flower)
  • other dies - Smart Glasses (Spellbinders), Vault World Travel (Tim Holtz)
  • distress oxide inks - squeezed lemonade, saltwater taffy, salvaged patina, peacock feathers
  • other - blending brushes, MISTI, T10 Copic marker, Big Shot, white gel pen, craft foam, Dimensionals

Head to the Just Add Ink blog to see which options my team mates used on their creations.

Thanks for stopping by.

I Meant to Behave...

I'm playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge this week.

Isn't that picture adorable? I so want to cuddle some baby ducks right now, lol. Anyways, back to card making business! I used the colours as backgrounds for some just as adorable but definitely-up-to-mischief cats.

I think that snarky sentiment is just perfect for this lot! 😂

Materials used:
  • card - basic white, basic black
  • dies - Postage Collage (Waffle Flower), cats (stash)
  • stencils - Postage Collage Everyday (Waffle Flower)
  • distress oxide inks - spun sugar, squeezed lemonade, shabby shutters
  • other - blending brushes, Big Shot, Small Talk Snarky stickers (Tim Holtz), mounting foam, Dimensionals

Thanks for calling in!

Pipin and the Fairy

In the mood for playing, I got out some inks and Lavinia stamps and ended up with this card:

I stamped Pipin the rabbit and the fairy first (using permanent ink) to ascertain placement for my ground and moon. The moon mask went down and I tore some scrap paper for the ground before beginning my blending with distress oxide inks. Once all the inking was done and dry, I stamped the images again and added some holographic glitter to the 'magic' sprinkles. As I was assembling the card I decided it needed something more, so I whisked out a stencil and without re-inking my blending brush, added a touch of interest and texture which I think finishes the card off perfectly. It was quick and easy and so much fun and I am loving these colours together!

Materials used:
  • Lavinia stamps - Stars 1 mini, Pipin mini, The Fairy Foragers, Silhouette Foliage
  • card - Multifarious smooth (Lavinia), basic black and basic white (SU)
  • distress oxide inks - dusty concord, saltwater taffy, villainous potion
  • other - moon mask (Tim Holtz), Versafine Clair nocturne ink, Quickie glue pen, holographic glitter (Lavinia), blending brushes, sponge dauber, MISTI, scrap paper, Pods stencil (Lavinia), craft foam

Thanks for calling in.

JAI #616 - Just Add a Sketch

Hello and welcome. This week at Just Add Ink we have a sketch for you to play with.

And here's my card:

I've taken a little artistic licence and in lieu of the sentiment across the circle, I've used the tree branch as my horizontal element - well, horizontal-ish, lol.

Materials used:

  • card - basic black, black watercolour
  • distress oxide inks - dried marigold, ripe persimmon, crackling campfire, pumice stone, picket fence
  • dies - layering circles (SU), branch (Impression Obsession), birds (stash)
  • other - craft foam, heat tool, blending brushes, moon mask (Tim Holtz), Big Shot

There's plenty more samples to inspire you over on the JAI blog so do pop over for a look. As always, we'd love you to create your own Just Add... for our gallery.

Thanks for stopping by.

Let's Go Fly a Kite

Another clean and simple challenge caught my interest, this time my old friends at CAS on Friday, whose theme this week is Silhouette. Now, you all know how much I love ink blending a sunrise or sunset, which of course are the perfect complement to a silhouette - however, this time around I decided to go with something different.

Materials used:

  • card - basic black, basic white, parrakeet party, polka dot paper (Paper Rose)
  • die - The Park (Tim Holtz)
  • other - craft foam, Dimensionals, Small Talk stickers (Tim Holtz), Big Shot

Thanks for calling in.

Paper Crafters Sampler Sweet Silhouettes

This month the team over at Paper Crafters Sampler have put together a gorgeous bunch of projects featuring silhouette stamps from Stampin' Up!s extensive range.

It was my turn to create a 3D project rather than a card and I decided to stamp inspirational sayings along with the silhouette stamps on some vanilla scented candles, with a gift box to match.

Here's a sneak peek at my candle set and gift box:

I'll come back in a day or two with sneak peeks of the other projects. Meanwhile, if you would like to join in the fun for this month just click on the March widget in my sidebar (over there on the right) to be taken to the PCS website.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers
Kez
