Christmas Blessings - Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

It's my last week as Guest Designer with the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. I've really enjoyed taking part and hope you've enjoyed seeing my creations each week. For this challenge we're to make a CHRISTMAS OR WINTER themed card Here in Australia Christmas happens in summer, but I love making winter-themed cards so I've incorporated both.

This scene was a lot of fun to put together. I really wanted anyone looking at it to feel like they're there in the snow so was very generous with my gesso splatters, even extending them to the card base itself. And in case you didn't notice, the music in the background is 'White Christmas', lol.

Do head over to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge blog to see what the design team have come up with to inspire you.

The lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp are generously giving away a fabulous $25 voucher to shop at the Simon Says Stamp Store - all you have to do is take out your crafting supplies, make something following this week's prompt, and link up at the bottom of the Challenge Blog post. You can join up to 5 times, giving you 5 chances to win! All winners are chosen randomly, so everyone has an equal chance.

Thanks for stopping by.

Monochrome - Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge

Welcome! It's a brand new Monday, which means a brand new challenge from the Simon Says Stamp peeps, where I'm guest designer for the month of September.

This week our theme is MONOCHROME. I picked green as my colour of choice and had a lot of fun making this mixed media card.

I used papers, laser-cut elements and rub-ons from the 49andMarket Color Swatch Willow collection, Tim Holtz Exquisite stamp set, together with Specimen thinlit dies, also from Tim Holtz, and Simon Says Stamp Layered Hummingbird wafer die.

Not a Card - Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge

Welcome! Once again I'm joining in with the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge team for some creative fun.

This week we are being challenged to make something that is NOT A CARD

For my project I made tags (inspired by Alison Bomber) using Tim Holtz Moon Mask Stencils and distress inks together with Tiny Text and Winter Watercolor 2 stamp sets.

Stamp It! STAMPtember - Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

Welcome! It's my second week being in the Designer Spotlight with the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, and this week it's all about celebrating STAMPtember, a month-long fete of stamping, crafting and cardmaking that hopes to inspire and educate as well as celebrate the fun of stamping and creating. Our theme is STAMP IT!

The lovely people at Simon Says Stamp sent me a brand new stamp set to play with and I had sooooooo much fun!

Regular visitors will know I do love me a punny sentiment and the idea for this card tickled my funny bone on so many levels. When I showed it to my friend, she nearly wet herself laughing - I guess that's why she's my bestie, she just "gets me". Hope you enjoy it even if you don't share my wacky sense of humour, lol.

I used Simon Says Stamp Pumpkin to Talk About clear stamp set and googly eyes

Recycle - Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

This month I'm delighted to be a Guest Stamptember Designer over on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.  I'll be sharing a project each Monday in September alongside the regular members of the Design Team and hope you'll pop back each week to join me.

This week's theme is RECYCLE and as it's the first Monday of the month, Simon Says Stamp are showcasing a brand/company and the design team are all using products from Brutus Monroe. (You don't have to use them to join in with the challenge, but if you have them they'd love to see them used.)

So, without further ado, let's dive into my project!

I recycled a die-cut Spellbinders dancin' birthday dragon from an earlier card (this one). For the background I used distress oxide sprays and inks then stamped polka dots from Tim Holtz's Mr Rabbit set and splattered with Dina Wakely white gesso. I then sprayed with worn lipstick and picked raspberry Distress Spritz through the Brutus Monroe vortex stencil. I finished with a Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words Birthday sentiment and some clear sequins. The whole panel was mounted on recycled corrugated cardboard to give depth and dimension.
