3 sleeps to go ...

Well, I don't know about you guys, but I am getting pretty darned excited about the new catalogue! I can't wait to get my hands on those gorgeous new colours and play with new stamps and punches and Big Shot paraphenalia! My wish list was revised AGAIN yesterday and I think it might stay as it is until Wednesday, but you never know!

It's only 2 sleeps until our Blog Hop, so I hope you'll be back here Tuesday at 9.00 pm to see what the gals at Stampers Anonymous SU have got cooked up for you. I am sure looking forward to seeing what they've all made, they are such a creative bunch.

DD12's team played a brilliant game of netball on Saturday and won their semi-final, so it's the preliminary finals next weekend. Unfortunately I will miss it, as I'm off to Melbourne to visit DD18 for a few days, so I've told her (DD12, that is) that they have to win so I can see them in the Grand Final the following week! They have done spectacularly well for a team who never won a single game last season! Brilliant job Wobbegongs and good luck for the prelims!

Meanwhile, here's a couple of Christmas cards to see you through until the Blog Hop ...

The bird punch makes a great dove bringing back the olive branch. Sahara Sand with Night of Navy and Whisper White. I used a small brown half pearl for the eye; gives it great dimension.

The pinecone stamp from Autumn Days teamed up with embossed Kiwi Kiss and a touch of Chocolate Chip. Simple, but looks terrific IRL.

Thanks for calling in. See you Tuesday!

Pleasant Pheasant

Today's card is one for the blokes using the totally gorgeous Autumn Days stamp set. It's one of those cards that ends up looking quite different to what you had in mind to start with and I think it's better than I first imagined, so that was a stroke of luck...ah, I mean genius!

What do you think of the stamping on the leaf shapes? Both my girls (yes, DD18 is home for the holidays, hooray!) like it, so I'm hopeful my vision wasn't just a freak of nature!!!

Anyways, thanks for dropping by. Have a good weekend and try to keep warm!

Blue Moon

A very simple card today for that occasion we all wish didn't happen: a sympathy card.

I've used the wheat sheaf stamp from Autumn Days, stamped in black StazOn before I brayered and I used the "stamping off" method to add depth. My first layer of ink was Baja Breeze (I adore this colour and am so glad we are keeping it!) and after that I put on my mask for the moon, then added Blue Bayou (which goes so perfectly with Baja) and a touch of Night of Navy at the top. When it was dry I added some more wheat for a dark foreground look. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments; it's the only sympathy one I have and I hope it's not too small.

You could use this - with a different sentiment, obviously! LOL! - for a masculine card too.

Thanks for dropping by. Have a good Sunday.

Autumn play

I was having a play the other day with some Autumn colours for thank you cards. Inspired by the colours of the new papers, this was my first card:
I used my crackle background stamp in a paler colour over the top to give an authentic look; plain white just looked too stark. Can you pick where the swirl is from? That's right, Season of Joy! Not just a Christmas set!

The second one started as something completely different and evolved into this:

The shape around the sentiment is die cut from the Lots of Tags set, which I don't have YET but have ordered - hooray for birthday cash!

Hope you like them and thanks for dropping by!

April classes

Autumn has always been my favourite time of the year; the heat is over (supposedly! No one told Mother Nature this year though!) but it's not too cold and I adore the colours of the leaves on deciduous trees. It's so beautiful in the mountains in Autumn, but I do miss Christchurch the most then ...

The Autumn Traditions designer papers and Autumn Days stamp set appealed to me in a nanosecond when I first saw them in the US catalogue, so they were high on my list of must haves for my demo pre-order! And the first thing I used them for was to create an easel calendar card with drawer attached to sit on my desk.

Gorjamalicious! Well, of course I could not stop at one! More new goodies to try - can't have them feeling left out, can I?! So I made another using the Cottage Wall papers and Vintage Vogue stamp set. Here tis:

The little handle for the drawer I found at my LSS; isn't it just too perfect?!

My regular ladies love these too - well, actually, they haven't seen the purple one yet and I know they'll just be SWOONING cos they all luuurrve purple! - and we will be making them in class this month. If you are interested, send me an email and I'll give you details, or I can come to you!

Sneak Peek

I have been creating up a storm this week in preparation for the Blog Hop but there are a couple of projects I'll save for other posts afterwards; don't want to overload you with too many goodies all in one go! So here are a couple of sneak peeks at projects I'll be showing you later in the week ...

Just to keep you going, you understand. Nothing to do with me not being able to contain my excitement and dying to show you new stuff!
