JAI #606 - Sketch

Hello! This week at Just Add Ink we have a sketch for you to play with:

I chose to make a child's birthday card using bright, colourful papers and these adorable chicks.

Small touches of sparkle were added for birthday fun - clear sequins and some clear Wink of Stella on the party hats.

Materials used:

• stamps - Birthday Chick (MFT)
• card - basic white, night of navy, retired SAB designer series papers
• dies - Happy Birthday circle (MFT), stitched circle (Poppycraft)
• other - Copic markers Y08, Y17, Y38, B0000; Stampin' Blends Bermuda bay and lovely lipstick; Dimensionals; pink twine; Big Shot, clear sequins, clear Wink of Stella

Plaid Chicks - CAS on Friday Challenge #191

Hi all! Welcome to another CAS on Friday challenge.

This is challenge #191 and the theme is PLAID.

Now, regular visitors will already know how much I LOVE plaid, so I was particularly excited about this one. Of course, I've never done plaid on a CAS card before, so had to restrain my natural inclination to just plaster plaid everywhere, lol. In the end I decided I wanted to use these adorable little chicks, so chose some plaid with yellow in it to match.

Materials used:

• stamps - Birthday Chicks (MFT), Tiny Words Birthday (SSS)
• card - plaid paper, whisper white, night of navy
• other - Sahara sand marker, Stampin' Blends, night of navy baker's twine, mounting tape

I thought the 'Woohoo' sentiment was a good multi-purpose one, so this card could be used for a number of celebrations, not just birthday.

Favourite Chick

This week I challenged my ladies to use "Things with Wings" as the theme for card making so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to ink up a new arrival to my craft room. Unfortunately the sentiment has the US spelling, but it's a good one nevertheless and these little chicks are so adorably sweet.

Materials used:

• stamps - Birthday Chick (MFT)
• card - whisper white, digital print stripes (Etsy)
• other - Stampin' Blends, white gel pen, Sahara sand and Pacific point markers, Stamparatus

Cute, huh? Pretty sure I'll be using this set again before long.
