I was fortunate enough to have my entry for Color Throwdown challenge #696 picked (see my card HERE) and was consequently offered the opportunity to be Featured Stamper for their new challenge #698. Here's the combo:

How yum do those strawberries look? They're one of the things I love most about summer. I definitely wanted to use strawberries on my card so I picked an adorable image from Mo Manning and coloured it with Copics.

  • card - basic white, blushing bride patterned paper
  • Copics - R01,02,29,37,89; W0,2; G24,40,43; Y15,17; E000,00,11,13,21,23,33

Your Beautiful Self

They've given us another gorgeous colour combo over at the Color Throwdown and once an idea came to mind I couldn't resist playing along.

Orange, pink and aqua aren't colours I use together very often but I think I may have to remedy that situation given how much I love the outcome, lol. Here's my card:

Isn't this hippo totally adorable?

Materials used:
  • stamps - Hippest Hippo (SU SAB freebie), Tiny Text (Tim Holtz)
  • card - basic white, Tea Break designer papers (Kaisercraft)
  • dies - tag, cloud, stitched rectangle
  • Copic markers - R20, R32, C0, C2, C4

Who's Your Mummy? - CAS on Friday Challenge #216

Time once more to dust off your craft goodies and keep things simple - clean and simple, that is. Over at CAS on Friday we've got another challenge for you and this time you can pick between AUTUMN or HALLOWEEN.

Anyone else's kids read the Goosebumps books? 'Who's Your Mummy' was the title of one from which I took my blog post title to go along with this adorable little baby mummy out to scare absolutely no-one, lol.

Isn't it just the cutest? We don't really get trick or treaters calling here in my little part of Aus (even before the pandemic), but I still buy lollies just in case...😉

Materials used:
  • stamps - Baby Mummy (Mo Manning)
  • card - basic white, basic black, tangelo twist, Monochrome Basics 1.1A designer paper (Paper Rose)
  • Copic markers - E00, E01, E11, C0, C2, W0, W2
  • dies - Nesting Tags (Kaisercraft), Alphanumeric Tiny Type Lower (Tim Holtz)
  • other - Big Shot, mummy cloth ribbon (Halloween Trimmings - Tim Holtz), 4/10" circle punch, Crop-o-dile

We'd love for you to share your favourite Autumn or Halloween things with us and of course there are more cards to inspire you over on the CASOF blog.

Thanks for dropping by.

The Card Concept Challenge - Colourful Autumn/Fall

Welcome to my very first challenge as a designer for The Card Concept! We're a fortnightly (bi-weekly) challenge blog that publishes a photo as an inspiration starter for your creativity.

Here's the photo for challenge #159, the theme for which is Colourful Fall/Autumn.

Everyone is welcome to play along, we simply ask that you state in your blog post which element/s of the photo inspired you and which design style you chose to use (you can combine more than one and don't worry, the different styles are explained on our website).

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned many times before that autumn is my favourite time of year as I love the colours of the leaves as they turn, so it will be no surprise that they were the inspiration for my clean and layered card. I also used three of the colours plus a couple more to give a warm, rich palette. Here's my offering:

Materials used:
  • stamps - Mocha Fall Girl (Stamping Bella)
  • card - basic white, early espresso, Autumn Spice papers (Your Paper Stash)
  • other - stitched rectangle die, Big Shot, small banner punch, button die, thread, Copic markers, craft foam, MISTI

My image was stamped on white card and coloured with Copic markers, and I stamped a second image to cut out a few more leaves as extras. Designer paper layers are matted and raised and I punched a small banner accent to tie it all together. The button is a die too, two layers cut from white and coloured with markers to match, then threaded with twine.

Do follow this link to The Card Concept blog to see what gorgeous cards my fellow team members have created for you, and of course we'd love it if you play along!

Thanks for stopping by.

Reach for your Dreams - CAS Challenge #211

Welcome to a new clean and simple challenge with CAS on Friday. For challenge #211 our theme is YOUR FAVOURITE STAMP OF THE MOMENT.

The stamp I've chosen is a brand new favourite - when I saw it for the first time I instantly fell in love for two reasons: (1) giraffes have always been my favourite animal and (2) the quirkiness appeals so much to my personality (so I guess maybe I'm a bit of an oddball too, lol). I just had to have it and I'm so glad I did - it makes me happy every time I look at it.

Materials used:

  • stamps - Oddball Giraffe (Stamping Bella)
  • card - basic white
  • Copic markers - Y17, YR24, YR27, E13, E15, E39, B000, B00
  • other - MISTI, craft foam

With the options wide open, now is perfect opportunity for you to join us and show off your fav stamp right now, so what are you waiting for? Pop over to the CASOF blog to see what my team mates have made to inspire you, then get creating!

Thanks for stopping by.

Sweet Treats - CAS on Friday Challenge #205

Welcome to another clean and simple challenge.

Our theme for challenge #205 is FOOD; add something sweet to your card.

Here's my offering:

I did some very simple masking to get this pile of chocolate-coated yumminess, colouring them with alcohol markers. You may notice there are exactly seven strawberries - one for each day that ends in 'y'. 😉😋 I also shaped the image a little to curve the edges and give the fruit some roundness.

Materials used:
  • stamps - Love and Chocolate (Newton's Nook Designs)
  • card - whisper white
  • Copic colours - R29, R37, R30, E15, E39, E29, C0, C2, C4
  • SU Blendabilities - granny apple green light and dark
  • other - stitched rectangle die, Big Shot, blending brushes, craft foam, post-it notes, Stamparatus, Dimensionals

We'd love you to check out the rest of the samples prepared to inspire you and, of course, to join in the challenge with us.

Thanks for dropping by.

Cheers

Crazy Plaids

Today's cards are a plethora of plaid combined with a candela of crazy! I've been playing with some Tim Holtz stamps and here's how that turned out:

Materials used:
  • stamps - Perfect Plaids, Crazy Dogs (both Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz collection), Itty Bitty Birthdays
  • card - delightful dijon, basic black, very vanilla
  • other - Stamparatus, real red marker, Copics, Dimensionals, stitched rectangle dies, Big Shot, ruler

As soon as I saw this particular stamp it made me think of the classic Burberry plaid, so that's why I picked these colours. The fine red lines were added with a marker.

Here's a cat version:

Materials used:
  • stamps - Perfect Plaids, Crazy Cats (both Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz collection), Itty Bitty Birthdays
  • card - highland heather, purple posy, gorgeous grape, whisper white
  • other - Stamparatus, Copics, Dimensionals, frosted frames dies, Big Shot

And I really couldn't resist a Christmas bird version too:

Materials used:
  • stamps - Perfect Plaids, Crazy Birds (both Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz collection), Santa's Suit
  • card - real red, whisper white, vellum
  • other - Stamparatus, Stampin' Blends, stitched rectangle dies, Big Shot, rhinestones, glue, real red marker, ruler

I think the bird is my favourite but the dog is a close second - which is your fav?

(Btw, a candela is a measurement of luminosity - I thought this fitted nicely with those luminous crazy eyes! Lol.)

Thanks for dropping by.

NSU - Love You Honey

Today's card is my second offering with copic colouring - I'm very new at this but am loving the challenge. I think I enjoy it as much as watercolouring, although it is a bit more difficult I find!

Anyway, one of the images I couldn't wait to colour was this totally adorable Mo Manning drawing of Baby Fairy Bee. Sooooooooo cute! The curly hair gave me some problems and I can see I'm going to have to look up some tutorials on that, but otherwise I am quite happy with it for a beginner.

Check out this sweetie:

 Materials used:

  • stamps - Baby Fairy Bee (digital stamp - Mo Manning), Lovely Little Labels (SU)
  • card - perfect plum, whisper white, basic grey, pumpkin pie polka dot dsp, XPress It
  • other - SU jewellery tag punch, Cheery Lynn honeycomb die, paper flowers, mounting tape, copics, SU 1.6 cm organza ribbon, SU ovals framelits, Big Shot, hot glue gun, Spica glitter pen

I coloured the hair last and one of my brown pens leaked two HUGE blobs of ink! Luckily for me, they were right on the hairline, so I cut around the image and stuck it over a second one to save me having to start all over again! There was a fair bit of muttering going on, as you can imagine! LOL!

Well, hope you like my offering. Thanks for stopping by.

Cheers

NSU - Caffeine To Go

Today's card is a fun little salute to all of you who are coffee addicts! I've had this Kraftin' Kimmie stamp for a while but never gotten around to using it, so yesterday I inked it up.

I've used SU's Perfect Blend in my background and you may recognise that the KK sentiment is very similar to the SU one.

And on the inside:

Materials used:
  • stamps - Perfect Blend (SU), Coffee Crusader (KK)
  • card - pear pizzazz, whisper white, crumb cake, XPress It
  • other - dimensionals, oval framelits, Big Shot, sponge dauber, copics

The picture of the coffee bean I got off the internet; my stamped images are coloured using copics. I did fussy cut around the main image and attach it over another stamp - very fiddly, but worth it, I think!

Thanks for calling in.
