Christmas Boxes and Tags

Last week's Christmas class focused on gift boxes and tags and I was busy for days beforehand creating samples to inspire my ladies. Here are the boxes we made in class:

This star box is a template from Lauren Meader and is very simple to put together. I decorated by stamping in crumb cake ink using Bells and Boughs and added a tulle bow and poinsettia with pearls.

Our next treat was a hexagon box made from the mini milk carton die - you've seen plenty of these before. As I used some "bauble" papers (Snow Festival dsp), I added a bauble shaped tag to match.

And lastly a simple fancy favour box, stamped with snowflakes and decorated with tulle, chunky glitter, snowflake (snow flurry die) and sentiment from More Merry Messages.

Other boxes I had for display:

Fancy Favour box again, doubled this time, plus a box made from four scallop envelopes.

SU's kraft gift boxes. The gingerbread paper is non SU but so adorable I couldn't resist!

Some simple candy wrappers.

A petal cone hanging decoration plus elongated candy wrapper.

I had also prepared a smattering of tags to give my ladies some ideas and then I gave them free run with dies, papers, ribbon, stamps, punches and more! It was bedlam there for a while, lol!!!

It has been fun doing Christmas things - homemade items always add that extra special personal touch!

Easter Baskets and Boxes

Coming up soon is my Easter Baskets and Boxes class and after scouring tons of blogs and sites for ideas, these are the gorgeous containers I came up with for this year.

A cutie in daffodil, this wee basket is made from the petal cone die:

Using the scallop envelope die, this one features Spring blossoms and I added some fabric to match the dotted ribbon (idea cased from Connie Collins):

Of course there has to be an adorable punch art Easter bunny; this one is from a tutorial by Kay Sha (which you can see here) and I used the Fancy Favour die:

It can easily become a basket with the addition of a nice handle.

And no boxes class would be complete without a mini milk carton hexagon box. I've watercoloured the cute bunnies from the Everybunny set to decorate the sides:

I made a couple of other projects too just to give my ladies some more ideas. Here's a carrot container made from the petal cone die (filled with chocolate bunnies, lol) and an Easter bonnet made from an empty brad/button container:

Please note that no Easter eggs were harmed during the making of this blog post.

Mocha Favour

I love how quick and easy it is to make a gift box using the Fancy Favour die.

Here I've used early espresso for the lower box and have stamped the gorgeous swirl from Creative Elements with gold ink. Subtle but elegant IMO.

The upper box was made using Mocha Morning DSP and I decorated the top with a paper rosette and vintage brad. A small butterfly made with more dsp and some black pearls adds the finishing touch.

This was a hostess gift at my workshop yesterday and all made in less than 30 minutes with some dies and my Big Shot. Love it!

Enchanting Valentine

I am totally loving the Everyday Enchantment papers in the SAB catty, aren't you? The muted colours and combos are just gorgeous - not to mention the beautiful matching organza ribbons - so using these on today's project was a bit of a no-brainer really.

I've made a card and gift box set for Valentines Day:

These little hearts are the bits that are cut out when you use the pinking hearts border punch. Yup, damn fiddly to glue on!

Inside the box are these gorgeous sweet treats that my DH brought back from a recent business trip to the US. They are mini pretzels covered in white chocolate and sprinkles. Delicious? You betcha! I was lucky to grab some for my project before they all disappeared!

• stamps - Greeting Card Kids, Well Scripted
• card - poppy parade, watercolour, lucky limeade, Everyday Enchantment dsp
• other - pinking hearts border punch, Everyday Enchantment ribbon pack, Fancy Favour die, Big Shot, dimensionals, aquapainter, ink pads, Sahara sand marker
• non SU - nestabilities oval dies
