Elves and Reindeer

Hi all! Here I am still preparing for Christmas and today I made up some lolly tubes for stocking fillers.

Firstly some Xmas coloured jelly beans with elf toppers. I made each one slightly different and coloured with markers in real red and green galore (retired - but match jelly beans!).

Then some "reindeer noses" (aka Jaffas) - so cute! The reindeer toppers are made from the owl punch, snowflake die (non SU) and 1/2" circle punch. I added some crystal effects on the noses (not quite dry in my photo!) to give them some dimension and shine.

Secret Santa

Our SU team has a Christmas dinner every year and we all get allocated a person to be Secret Santa for. We don't spend a lot on gifts, but most of the fun is in the packaging and wrapping and making the present look totally gorgeous.

I was SS for Rachel and these are the gifts I made for her:

The decorated glass bauble from yesterday's post

A box containing gift tags

A container of Smooch Spritz (looks like a Toblerone!)

Some Xmas ribbons in a small window box

A mini bag in a box with shimmer paint inside

Three spray bottles to use for water or shimmer paint

Tubes filled with antique brads, brads and label holders from hodgepodge hardware and Christmas coloured jelly beans and I made a box to store them in.

Phew! So many photos - I'll have to come back another day to show you the beautiful things my SS gave me!

Secret Project

Howdy! At last I am able to show you the project I presented at our "regionals play day" on Monday.

A sweet box made using Christmas papers and some gorgeous satin ribbon.

No, you're right, it wasn't just a box! Inside it, wrapped carefully in tissue, is a decorated glass bauble. Take a lookie:

I stamped small snowflakes on the outside of the bauble (using white StazOn ink). The snowmen were stamped on vellum cardstock (again using StazOn, this time in black) and coloured with markers and whisper white craft ink. The shape was cut to fit, then inserted into the bauble and some white Flower Soft added to look like snow.

A cute little gift and a lovely way to present a homemade decoration for the tree of someone special.

Materials used:

• stamps - Snow Swirled, Holiday Lineup
• card and paper - old olive, cherry cobbler, Jolly Holiday DSP, vellum
• markers - cherry cobbler, marina mist, old olive, pumpkin pie
• inks - white StazOn, black StazOn
• other - very vanilla satin, old olive button, Big Shot
• other - Flower Soft, nestabilities die, glass bauble, cherry cobbler satin ribbon, embroidery thread

I Wish

A while back I did a class with team mate Sue where we made a totally GORJUS mini scrapbook album using half of an "I Wish" Simply Scrappin' Kit. I have since made another one and put my own 'stamp' on it, as it were (I know, a poor pun!) and am running classes to make them, the first of which is tomorrow night. I have one spot left so if you are interested in coming along, please let me know. I am also happy to bring the class to your place if you and some friends would like me to, or maybe even making a kit you can buy by mail if there is a demand.

Elves and Snowmen

I've been so busy lately with Christmas card stamp-a-stacks that I have been neglecting my own need for Christmas cards! So on Wednesday I sat down to make a few and began with five of this design

The bits were leftovers from a SAS, so it was pretty easy to stamp, colour and put them together. Then I tried a card using the set called A Flower For All Seasons and liked it, so made three of those.

I also wanted to use these cute snowmen from the Window Dressing hostess set, which I have been sadly neglecting, so came up with this card. I really like this one and may just have a bit of trouble giving it away .... LOL!

Hope you have all started on your Chrissy cards - December will be here before you know it!

Whimsical

It's almost time for Christmas Stamp-a-stacks again and this month we are going for c-u-t-e! Firstly an SU card using Holiday Lineup, the new scallop oval punch (with Best Yet - what a fantastic hostess set this is!) and Ski Slope DSP from the Spring mini. I used some puff paint on the pom poms which looks so gorjus!

The second card we'll be making uses SU card and ink but the rest are non-SU, so don't look if you don't want to! House Mouse stamp (love those little critters!) with cuttlebug embossing folder and nestabilities.

Are they not the cutest little things? Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!! I've used brown StazOn ink with chocolate chip, riding hood red and white card. There's one spot left for Sunday if you are in the area ....
